SSC CGL Exam preparation needs proper and systematic strategy for studying. It is very important to manage your time from the daily routine for studies.  

There are four sections in pre-exam and one needs to focus on all of them to score well in the exam. Devote maximum time to English and Quantitative Aptitude section. These are the sections where most of the candidates scoreless due to lack of knowledge and understanding at secondary level of their education.

Reasoning takes less time to solve as it has no formulae to learn. One needs to understand the quiz to attempt questions in the exam. General studies section is a hard nut to crack because it has a very vast syllabus.

After clearing the concepts master basic calculation techniques to speed up complex and lengthy calculations. There are some short tricks to calculate based on the basic concepts. Practice them daily with the timer on and try to finish the exercise within the time limit set by the examiner.

3. Practice from previous year question bank:
SSC CGL questions are repeated from previous year test papers. Therefore practice from the previous year question papers to keep you updated with the topics mostly asked in the exam.

4. Practice Mocks:
Mock tests are integral part of the preparation and should not be avoided at any of the stages preparation. Maintain the habit of solving mock tests even if you have not covered the entire syllabus.

5. Time management:
At the time of writing a full length mock test use stopwatch to keep a check on your speed of solving the questions. It will help you to acquaint yourself to a time-based approach to solve.

6. Predict the unpredicted:
Develop the passion and enthusiasm for solving puzzles, crosswords, aptitude questions and almost all the mathematics or calculation based questions. It will assist you to solve complex puzzles asked in Logical reasoning and quantitative aptitude sections. In other words, one should be prepared to solve the unexpected pattern if at all it appears you will be able to solve it accurately rather than being confused

7. Analyze your practice:
You should review your practice by taking mock tests and evaluate your strengths and weakness so that you can improve yourself. It will not only enhance your knowledge but will also improve your speed of solving the paper. Master the concepts the moment you have come to know your weak points.
