What should be the strategy for the SSC CGL 2019 after seeing the SSC CPO exam papers?

Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization Exam is conducted by SSC to recruit suitable candidates for multiple posts which include SI (Sub Inspector) in Delhi Police, SI (Sub Inspector) in CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces), and ASI (Assistant Sub Inspector) in CISF (Central Industrial Security Force). If we examine the exam pattern of SSC CPO then we will find it to be very similar to SSC CGL exam, as in both these exams, the candidate’s aptitude and abilities are tested in sections like English, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude.

Quantitative Aptitude Section

It is considered to be most challenging section where candidate’s basics are tried and tested through tricky questions. Despite being proficient in calculating, many candidates found question paper too tiresome, tough and lengthy. General Intelligence and Reasoning Section

In this section, questions asked are both verbal and non-verbal type and candidate’s reasoning and analytical abilities are tested. The problems related to blood relations, seating arrangements, directions and distance and puzzles were challenging. For many students, it was difficult to understand the language of the questions while some students failed to visualize the arrangements or patterns. Therefore, it is very important to practice the questions on these topics properly and practice them hard. English Language Section

It is the most popular section because in every competitive exam, it plays a significant role. The candidates had mixed feeling this time as few of them found it simple while rest of them founded it bit tricky. The exam pattern was slightly changed as asked questions were complex. The questions based on double fillers as well as cloze test were difficult. Even the Reading Comprehension looked puzzling to some candidates. So, it is very important to enhance your reading skills by reading English newspapers, magazines, and books etc on daily basis. It will sharpen your grammatical as well as vocabulary skills.   

General Knowledge and General Awareness

In last SSC CPO exam, the importance of Current Affairs has increased considerably as around 30 to 40% questions were asked from this topic. The examining body laid extra stress on Current Affairs and questions asked were primarily from last 6 months to 1 year important news and happenings. Even in static GK section, the questions were asked in indirect manner and many type of questions were also asked, which stunned candidates. Typical questions were asked from topics like History, Polity and Biology, which looked unpredictable. Hence, the candidates should be mentally prepared to face uncharacteristically different questions from this section in SSC CGL 2019 exam. The proper strategy should be to make a list of all important current affairs, information regarding polity, geography, biology etc week-wise and practice them regularly.
